In order to practice the Dharma, one must depend on good knowledge like one depends on a good friend (Kalyāṇa-mitra). One should follow proper mental application, and practice of the Dharma while leading to liberation. Before attaining Buddhahood, creating an environment for the Dharma to thrive is very important. Bodhisattvas turn their minds around conditions while ordinary people turn their conditions around their minds. With good knowledge, even the ordinary practitioners are able to be engaged inwholesome thoughts. In the process of Buddhist practice, we should cherish the good knowledge of fellow practitioners, be grateful for the good knowledge of the Dharma Committee and be respectful towards the Dharma that has taught us.
