In a later speech, the Most Ven. Zewu shared his feedback about this study tour and introduced the college motto of the BCM ¡°Compassion and Wisdom¡± again. He said, ¡°The motto consists of compassion and wisdom. Compassion means convenience while wisdom means perfection. Perfection is a process of being a Buddha while convenience is a process to take people from suffering. When you studied in the BCM, it was a process of pursuing wisdom. But after you graduate and go out for the promotion of Buddhism, it is a process of practicing compassion. Both compassion and wisdom cannot be separated and would not be out of fashion in any time. All of you as well as people of the BCM should have a comprehensive understanding and inheritance of this motto.¡± At last, the Most Ven. Zewu wished all the graduates (108 persons in total) have a continuously growing Bodhi in heart with wisdom and original intention.
In the end, Ven. Nengshun represented all the graduates by giving a speech in which he shared his feelings about the study tour and the students¡¯ willingness, as well as the bright vista of the Graduate Association.
At 9 p.m., the ceremony was concluded with the recitation and chorus performance.
