Institute management and teaching experience

Master Fayuan was bored in Hailun City of Heilongjiang Province in 1964.
He studied in popular school from 1972 to 1982.
He studied in Minnan Buddhist Institute from 1987 to 1990.
Since February 1991, he taught in Minnan Buddhist Institute so far.
In February 1995, he was the Fifth undergraduate class teacher for female school of Minnan Buddhist Institute.
From January 1996 to April 2008, he was the vice dean of Minnan Buddhist Institute and also the Sixth undergraduate class teacher for female school.
In April 2008, he took the position of vice president of Minnan Buddhist Institute.

Service to Buddhist Associations, temples and society

In September 1997, he was elected as deputy secretary-general in the Fifth Buddhist Association of Xiamen City.
In October 1998, he was elected as one of governors in the Seventh Buddhist Association of Fujian Province.
In March 1999, he was invited to sit on a committee of the Thirteenth Overseas Chinese Foreign Affairs Committee by Siming Government of Xiamen City.
Since January 2000, he served as superintendence for Xiamen Zizhulin Temple up till now.
On January 6th, 2001, he was elected as deputy secretary-general in the Sixth Buddhist Association of Xiamen City.
In October 2003, he served as a committee of the Fifth Xiamen Siming District Committee in Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
In February 2004, he was elected as vice chairman in the Sixth Buddhist Association of Xiamen City.
In November 2006, he succeeded himself as vice chairman in the Seventh Buddhist Association of Xiamen City.
In January 2007, he continued to be a committee of the Sixth Xiamen Siming District Committee in Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
In November 2008, he was elected as deputy secretary-general in Fujian Provincial Buddhist Association.
In April 2009, he took the position of the Abbot of Xiamen Wangshilian Temple.
In January 2010, he was elected as the member of Chinese Buddhist Association.
In December 2011, he was elected as the vice chairman again in the Eighth Buddhist Association of Xiamen City.

Foreign affairs activity

In October 1999, Master Fayuan visited Taiwan to participate in academic exchange with Mainland Buddhist Education Delegation.
In December 2000, he was invited to attend the Singapore’s New Century warm party.
In October 2004, he was invited to take part in Summons Ceremony of Pujue Buddhist Temple in Singapore Guangming Mountain and made a speech of The Brahmajala Sutra Bodhisattva Precepts for the preceptees.
In May 2006, he was invited to join in the Third International Vesak Ceremony in Thailand.
In May 2008, he was invited to join in the Fourth International Vesak Ceremony in Vietnam.
In March 2009, he was invited to attend the world peace prayer ceremony of sides of the Taiwan Straits in Jinmen.
In November 2009, he visited Taiwan together with Fujian Provincial Buddhist Education Delegation.

Propagate the Buddhism

From Mar 22nd to 30th, 2007, he was invited to propagate the Dhamma in the Buddhist Academy of Zhongde Temple in Fuan.
From October 6th to 12th, 2007, he was invited again to promote Buddhism in the Buddhist Academy of Zhongde Temple in Fuan.
From October20th to 28th, 2007, He was invited to propagate the Buddhism in Jiangsu Provincial Nizong Buddhist Institute (Nanjing Jiming Temple).

Others

He was awarded the title of Outstanding Leadership of Minnan Buddhist Institute in 1997.
He was honored as advanced individual for Xiamen Special Economic Zone by Xiamen National Religion Bureau on September 15th, 1997.
In 2000 and 2001, he obtained the title of Excellent Teaching Master by Minnan Buddhist Institute.
In September 2008, he won the honor of Excellent Teacher in administrative and teaching work of Minnan Buddhist Institute conferred by Xiamen National and Religious Affairs Bureau, Xiamen Buddhist Association and Minnan Buddhist Institute.

Institute's principle. Loving nation, loving teaching, learning and cultivating himself according to religious doctrine together are our principles. The integration of study and practice, and public monastery life of institute are to be guidelines. We adhere to the idea of Eight Schools and gives consideration to Five Sciences in teaching.
