Institute's Sermon--mercy and wisdom

Nanputuo

A worldling only has compassion without wisdom, but he/she becomes a Bodhisattva when he/she is both merciful and sapiential. When seeing commonalty, our mercy gets so deep that we ought to seek for wisdom more diligently. On the basis of wisdom, we faithfully practise the pure precepts and the concentration one after another, which make us acquire profound essential brightness. Such wisdom is beneficial to the beings, just as lotus is not inserted with water. Only giving up prejudice and obstinacy could realize all dharma according to actual observation. With kind thoughts, soft words and unobstructed eyes, we are able to treat sentient being equally. After carrying out all Difficult and Painful Practices, we will achieve the original state. It is a pleasure that today your beings get together and practise along with us. If you cannot affirm our superficial experience, then recount your opinion, but we hope you are willing to verify in confidence if it is the same as follower's feeling.
